TPT Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates TPT Books at books.tptsolutions.co.nz. We are based in New Zealand and are bound by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (“Privacy Act”) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, and other applicable privacy laws.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse, purchase, or download books from TPT Books, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account details (optional): name, email address, password — only required if you choose to create an account to manage licenses.
• Purchase information: email address provided during checkout on Gumroad, Stripe, or other third-party platforms. We receive a license key and your email; we do not handle or store your payment card details.
• License key claims: if you link a license key to an account, we associate the key with your email address.
• Communications: emails or messages you send to our support team.

Information collected automatically

• Download audit log: when you download a file using a license key, we record the timestamp, IP address, and user agent. This is used to enforce download limits and detect misuse.
• Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, referring URLs.
• Cookies: session cookies required for authentication if you are signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To issue and validate license keys and process download requests.
• To enforce download limits (maximum 3 downloads per license key).
• To provide account features (viewing purchased books, managing licenses).
• To send transactional emails (license delivery, account confirmation, password reset).
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised sharing of license keys.
• To respond to support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

• Service providers: Trusted third-party vendors that help us operate TPT Books — including Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (hosting), Gumroad and Stripe (payment processing). These providers process data only on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose information to comply with our legal obligations.
• Business transfers: If TPT Solutions Ltd is acquired or its assets transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Australia and/or the United States, operated by our hosting providers. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you suspect any unauthorised access to your account, please notify us at support@books.tptsolutions.co.nz immediately.

6. Data Retention

We retain license key and download audit records for as long as the license is active. If you request deletion of your account, we delete your account data within 30 days, though anonymised download audit records (without personal identifiers) may be retained for security purposes. We may retain certain records longer where required by law.

7. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Object to or restrict our processing of your information in certain circumstances.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

8. Children's Privacy

TPT Books is intended for readers aged 18 and over due to the nature of some content (adult romantasy and dark romance). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered account holders by email before material changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at support@books.tptsolutions.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (New Zealand) or the relevant data protection authority in your country.
